Meet Ian
I'm Ian and I'm the owner and principal osteopath at Back To Life Clinic. This clinic has been my passion to set up since first graduating and working in the NHS and private practices in Lincolnshire. I am a qualified osteopath, having obtained my 5-year degree - Master of Osteopathy - with distinction. Previously though I used to work for several large charities, and that drive to help and support others not only means that I love to help get people free from pain, but that I am committed to helping raise money and awareness for local charities. Since 2018 I have donated services worth over £3,000 and helped raise over £4,000 through donations, prizes and events.
Keeping you safe
At Back To Life Clinic your health and wellbeing is our top priority so we have gone over and above the recommended cleaning and operational requirements - as set out by the government and the General Osteopathic Council - in order to provide the safest environment we can in the clinic.
Charity Support
Apart from my focus on providing long-term pain relief and excellent customer care, what sets Back To Life Clinic apart from other health clinics is my devotion to helping charities. Before becoming an osteopath, I worked for some of the UK's best-known charities, including Cancer Research UK, Barnardo's, Alzheimer's Society, England Rugby's official charity and British Heart Foundation, helping raise over £35 Million.
That desire to support others in need is the reason Back To Life Clinic supports charities - through direct donations for referrals by clients, prizes, fundraising events, volunteering my services (including free treatments and desk setup assessments) and encouraging patients and suppliers to get involved too. Since 2019 we have supported several local charities including Beaumond House Community Hospice, Newark Children's Bereavement Centre, Shaw Mind and local schools.
So far Back To Life Clinic has helped provide over £7,000 to these amazing causes.
We really look forward to providing even more support for Beaumond House and other local charities throughout 2025:

Client Testimonials
I’ve been using Ian for three months and can honestly say that my back has felt the best it has in years! Personable, professional and with a truly client-centric attitude, he’s made a huge difference to my posture, my neck pain has gone and my lower back has more movement than I can remember.Daniel Mulhern Neck pain Treatment
I cannot thank Ian enough for his professionalism, his care, his knowledge and above all his life-changing methods of treatment. I cannot recommend him highly enough.Steve Wainwright Shoulder and back pain treatment
I would like to thank you for seeing me so promptly and for your treatment that has supported me in a prompt return to work following my recent accident. What has really impressed me is the advice you have offered relating to posture and sitting correctly for my long distance travel and computer work, and the exercises that have expedited my recovery. My GP actively supported me in my decision to seek immediate support from an osteopath rather than – as I have in the past, waiting for soft tissue injury pain to settle – and I personally believe this has reduced the time I have had to be absent from work.Sue Arrowsmith (Deputy Director of Nursing, Quality and Patient Experience, NHS England – Midlands & East) Neck pain treatment
Ian is very professional and talks you through each step of the treatment needed and i found it fascinating how different aches and pains often stem from a completely different area than i first thought. Ian offers valuable advice on stretches and treatment you can do at home to improve your symptoms. I would highly recommend the Back to Life Clinic.Amanda Shoulder and low back pain treatment
Ian has generously donated his time and talents to staff at Beaumond House Community Hospice these last few weeks. We are all much healthier thanks to his expertise. We are very grateful. Thank you Ian.Debbie Abrams (Chief Executive, Beaumond House Community Hospice) Desk postural assessments and osteopathic treatments for staff
A few years ago I was told I needed an operation on my shoulder but I couldn't take the time of work at that point. Fast forward to meeting Ian a few weeks ago and he is already making that operation seem unnecessary. Thank youWendy Baird Shoulder pain treatment
Ian came to review the desk set-ups in our office - particularly the relationship between the people, their chairs, desks and computers. the new set-ups were strange at first but didn't take long to get used to. No more slumping over desks for us with our new found work postures!Andrew Stafford Employee desk setup and postural advice
I would highly recommend Ian. Very thorough and knowledgeable. I've learnt so much about my body in just one session, and have come away with doable exercises that should make such a positive impact to my posture, pains and general well-being.Christina Riley Low back and pelvic pain treatment
I had my first appointment today and I couldn’t be happier and more hopeful for a pain free future. The most striking thing about Ian is how much he cares and how much passion he clearly has for his work. He explains everything so well, It’s great to finally have some clarity. I felt very relaxed and at ease and can already feel a physical difference. I can say without hesitation I have 100% confidence in Ian and feel very privileged to have his help and support. Thank you Ian!Richie Byrne Chronic low back pain treatment
